Trail & Tarp is a free, publicly available information site about camping equipment. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What the content is

Editorial recommendations built from published manufacturer specifications, named published standards, and arithmetic derived from those figures. We have not tested the products we write about, and every roundup says so. Our full method, including its limits, is at how we research.

What the content is not

• Not a safety guarantee. Camping involves weather, fire, fuel, water and terrain. Assess conditions yourself, follow local rules, and use equipment according to its manufacturer's instructions, which always take precedence over anything here.
• Not professional advice. Nothing here is medical, legal or safety advice.
• Not a price quote. Prices shown come from an automated feed with a date stamp and change constantly. The price you pay is the one shown by the retailer at checkout.
• Not a warranty of specifications. Specs are compiled from manufacturers' published information and may be revised by them without notice. Verify anything critical to your purchase on the manufacturer's own page.
